Concurrent Engineering Definition

Concurrent Engineering (CE) is a systematic approach to integrated product development. It emphasises responding to customer expectations while embodying team values of co-operation, trust, sharing and consensual decision-making. This involves all perspectives in parallel from the beginning of the product life cycle (ESA, 2008). CE is a business strategy that replaces the traditional product development process so that tasks are done in parallel (Ya, 1998).
